“I stand in the balance between creation and destruction. Silence destroys. Speaking Creates.”
Larry Crab
In a time of peace, a man can only risk his character, self-respect, and reputation. What do many men do with this knowledge? The answer is nothing, and we speak nothing; however, I feel it is shifting.
The social risks of being cast out for speaking the truth or arguing against the mob mentality will take courage. It will take discipline to control your emotions to not respond to your antagonist like a spoiled child when he or she is acting like one.
In his book "Men of Courage, " Larry Crab writes that speaking is the gateway to relationships and silence is the gatekeeper; when men are silent, they deny the existence and goodness of God.
I think that good men have been silent for a long time. The mentality that if I say nothing about this, it won't affect my circle or my family, and maybe it doesn't, at least for a while, until it does.
If you see wrong being done or spoken, stop it and speak out against it, push back, check them; by them, I also mean us.
We already know what silence will do
Now we are reaping what our silence has sown.
