When Passion Fades

Passions fade; do not rely on them to get you through the chaos.

Aurelius Kadzius

Passion is not a frivolous thing in men. It is crucial and has its place. If you have ever noticed when you are tired and think you are empty of ideas, they fade.

The waves of passion dwindle to less than mild ripples on the surface of a calm sea when the answers do not explode across your mind's eye like meteors showers through the sky. It no longer feeds itself; it starves.

It starves by choice, not by circumstance. Passion seems to be in love with success only. When the resistance is substantial, the passion fades, and desire and discipline step in, giving passion some top cover.

Desire and discipline seem to be the answers that speak the loudest with passions fall short. It maybe why I believe desire and discipline is obsession. A work of faith not of reason.

David Hume said that reason should only be the slave to passion. I don’t agree, but I he is correct, we all seen more men moved into action over passions and not reason or logic. It is unfortunate that it is true.

When passion fades reason rises again, clarity of reality reveals itself to men. Showing how easily passions and feelings stir us to move into action. The passions of the moment dissipate and then what? What now man? You return to what you know, and again wait for the keys of passion to be struck again.

Rinse and repeat until dead, or you use your double D's (Desire & Discipline) to fuel your pursuit of these things consciously and not solely on emotion.
