A Man’s Struggle

A man’s struggle won’t end until the battle is done.

Aurelius Kadzius

I would love to tell you that the enemy is clear and stands apart from you. Quickly, he declares himself the opposite of you and wants to rule your thoughts and actions by inducing an emotional response that leads to careless action.

To use violence and force to break your spirit into submission, unfortunately, he doesn’t, and he won’t.

Take a moment, my brother, to truly understand the deep roots of your thoughts, which lead you to your actions. They may seem like habits you could stop if you wanted to, but they hold more power than you realize. If you can stop as you claim.

Then why don’t you?

I read that if a man cannot control his body for 15 minutes for four days in a row, he cannot control himself. Logically controlling the body means knowing how to control your mind.

He asks the reader to sit, be still,  be there for 15 or 30 minutes; don’t travel in the mind. If you cannot control your body, he states, you have no control over your mind.

This isn’t new, but some things get lost in the trends and noise that were obvious and clear once.

The mind controls the body; the body is the vessel through which we move our minds in this life. It is a symbiotic relationship between the command center and the weapon.

Mastering the body is the foundational first step in mastering oneself; after that, I know we can master the mind completely.
