A Man Will Watch His Dream Die

A man will watch his dream die, believing he is unworthy of it.

Aurelius Kadzius

Man desires to do good, to become good, but he believes he doesn’t deserve the blessing of the good he has done. He stands, watches, and doubles his suffering by doing nothing and reaping nothing from nothing.

Death by static sabotage.

He speaks for nothing, stands for nothing, moves for nothing, does not love or hate, and tolerates anything as long as he doesn’t need to do anything.

Has no conviction and is not committed to anything, and so cannot identify when something good arrives into his life. He stands numb, looking at everything but what’s here and now in front of him.

He struggles to wake up and is anxious before sleep. Slowly, he waits for his dream to die so he can justify hating it, and then he can die shortly after.

There is no time to slow down and be still. We are not dead yet, and since we are above ground, so are our goals and, with them, our dreams. Breathe life into them. Lean into them. You should, and I must too.
