Death the Greatest Thief
Death is the greatest thief. Loots everything that defines life itself.
Aurelius Kadzius
Hijacking a man's plans, paths, and death lurks; he is a hunter. He stalks his game. He comes in all kinds of forms. He is fighting men with endurance and surprise.
As the dominos fall, there is no way to tell which attack adaptation will come for you. He may attack your morale for 15 years and watch you slowly lose your strength, grow tired, and slip just enough to keep from creating any good or joy for yourself or anyone else.
He may even be dangling a carrot for you to strive for. Then poof, just before you were to reach it, it goes dark.
Death is the great devourer, the eater of men's dreams, plans goals, and he is no fool, a chess master, a wartime general. He creates snares, never obvious; obvious traps or attacks are easy to defend.
He does it with precision, he is sly, and he turns what you may think is a small vice once in a while over 15 years, using you as stock and with compound interest on top of it. He waits; he waits for the right time to sell you out. Then they find your corps.
Do everything that death hates.
