Feelings Are Not Mountains
Nothing can be any less important than how a man thinks he feels.
Aurelius Kadzius
Trying to understand something that disappears and reappears as quickly as your next thought should be treated as something other than a stationary object rooted in the earth.
Treat feelings like wind directions constantly shifting; they are not mountains. It may be that when you understand what and why you felt something, you will just be grateful that you didn’t respond without consulting your reason or logic to the events, words, or actions.
Control of one’s feelings and emotions is the foundation of growing from a boy to a man. When it comes to feeling motivated, there is no such thing. You either desire to do something, and so you do it, or you do not desire to, and so you don’t.
This type of simplicity will offend the weak.
Too much emphasis on weak emotions and feelings has caused men to act only when they align with them. They do things and take action only when they “Feel like it,” but then, what happens when they “Don’t feel like it”? Nothing happens, and the inconsistency of any feeling that a man has faded quickly, and so do his actions in response to them.
There is no motivation to do it, so it doesn’t get done. It’s a weak mind telling itself that it’s alright to accept these weak thoughts.
Waiting until “I feel like doing it” is a practice in bullshit.
Emotions are not energizing cups of coffee. Most of the time, they are a distraction from why you are doing what you are doing and its purpose; they are obstacles to overcome.
We rarely feel our way into watching our diet, or training twice a day, waking up 2 hours early so you can get a training session in before starting work. We don’t feel our way into the mastery of skill and oneself.
Have a stoic approach to feelings and emotions, feel them then let them go. Do not dwell do not emote, wine, learn to handle control your reactions to them.
