Imperfect Men

No man, alive or dead, has made zero mistakes.

A man falls, his brother mocks him, “You see, he isn’t great, his wisdom is flawed, his deeds are now tarnished, he was not who we thought, he is not perfect.”

As the man works himself up to his knees, he looks up at his mocker and replies. “I never said I was.” He stands up.

Men scouring the world for the perfect leader, the perfect man to lead them and provide answers to the chaos of their own lives, are naive and unrealistic, much like children.

There are no perfect men. No man, alive or dead, has made zero mistakes. Well, there was one, but you know he was killed for it. If you are looking for one to follow with a perfect resume, all your efforts will be in vain. If he has not made any flawed choices or actions yet, give him time; he will.

Will you be there, remembering that he is just a man like you, or will you be there to mock him, point at him, remind him, and all those who received help and guidance from him, now known as fools, mocking them too?

Men who stepped deeply into risk to create a positive change were assassinated, placed in prison, poisoned, or crucified as a warning to those men who dared to follow them.

It’s easy to sit back and trash on men from long ago and cherry-pick the history of the world as if you would have done something different or better in their shoes.

There is only one way to find out: step into the chaos and lead. Everything else is just waiting.
