The Cowardice of Passive-Aggression

Son • “Have I missed it? Have I missed the battle?”

Farther • “You have missed the war.”

Men speaking passive-aggressively lack the courage to say what they truly mean. Hiding behind the sarcasm and rationalization and pussy footing around the actual problem or issue or subject.

A stupid trait and habit that is socially constructed today and acceptable only because anger, disappointment, or disagreement cannot be expressed genuinely among men in these "civilized times." Speaking directly and clearly about anything negative or perceived as unfavorable is not socially acceptable.

If you do it, stop. If you don’t, don’t start.

Speaking like this, men become snakes.

I think it's bullshit, and I believe resentment builds in that bullshit. It creates a line of communication of distrust and possible manipulation. Men who speak the truth, know their mind and have the strength to share it among their brothers are rare, and when you meet them, keep them close.

Regardless of how uncomfortable the truth is.

If they speak to you passive-aggressively, ask hard questions about your friendship.
