Men Seek What Is Real

In the most basic sense, men are looking for something real.

Aurelius Kadzius

Looking for it and finding it rarely shows up as we saw it in our mind’s eye.  Often, it is not even close.  When we receive that authentic experience, and it’s not how we imagined it, we have a terrible habit of running.  In turn, we received what we requested but wanted to change how it tasted.

The search for genuine joy, pain, real virtue, agony, victory, and defeat.  Asking for the real and cherry-picking what you choose to experience won’t do; you end up running from yourself and your life.

Let it all be as beautiful and terrible as it can be.  Then, with fresh new scars and open eyes, when you lay your head down for sleep, you will say, “I lived today,” it hurt, and I was in it and turned toward it, and I didn’t look away.

Running doesn’t necessarily mean moving to a new state or country.  You can run in the mind as effectively as you can with the body to escape discomfort.  Men of wisdom say escaping in the mind is more powerful and effective than doing so physically with the body; I agree.

 A disassociation.

Easier to escape into a world of the mind, to look for and generate something more comfortable in it, when reality is turning into a clown show.

Due to it being so easy, the difficulty of creating a resistance to these easily accessible things for the mind and for some the body to escape too.

Regardless of their difficulty, we must resist this temptation to flee in these arms. The real genuine things are there, choose not turn from them.
